Bringing Her Home: A Historic House Finds New Ground
Some stories begin with a blueprint.
Ours begins with a house—one already built, already lived in, already loved.
She’s over 100 years old. Full of creaks and quirks and charm. I’ve admired her for years, tucked on someone else’s land, facing future demolition. And something about her called to us.
So we did something a little wild: we bought her. The whole house. And now, we’re bringing her home.
The land she’s headed to is our own—here on Nectar Road. The contracts are signed. The movers have been hired. If the weather holds, foundation work begins this week.
And still, there’s that whisper of doubt:
“What if something falls through?”
But that’s part of it, isn’t it? This is not a polished reveal. This is a living, breathing, slightly unpredictable journey. And we want to share it with you.
Here, in this corner of the internet, we’ll be telling the full story:
Why we chose preservation over new construction.
How the move actually happens (yes, she’s traveling by truck!) (and being cut in two!!).
What it means to let an old house root into new land.
It won’t be fast. It won’t be easy. But it will be meaningful.
She’s stood the test of time. And soon, she’ll stand on new soil.
Welcome to the next chapter of Nectar Road.
Follow along as we bring this old soul home.
